Cindy Zia, M.D. worked as a family medicine physician for well over a decade before joining MemorialCare. Medicine appealed to her as a career for several reasons. “I wanted to be able to help people using science, ” she says. “I believe it is truly an honor to be the doctor taking care of a whole family.” Dr. Zia says she gets the most satisfaction from her work when her partnerships with patients result in their improved health. “It’s important to me that patients know that I enjoy building relationships with them that positively impact their well-being.” Dr. Zia grew up in Taiwan and lived in Iowa for six months before moving with her family to Southern California. When she is not practicing medicine, she volunteers at her children’s Mandarin immersion school. She also enjoys watching Korean dramas and learning Korean.
